This course is designed for:

The comprehensive course is divided into "core subjects" and "meter specific" topics. The core subjects are generally applicable to all meter types, included are:
- introduction to the industry
- general meter installation effects
- fluid properties (compressibility, sound speed, viscosity etc)
- calibration and traceability
- measurement uncertainty
- meter station design
- industry standards (AGA, API, ISO)
- pressure and temperature measurement
The details of meter specific topics will vary from one meter to the next, topics include:
- basic operating principle
- design variations
- calculations
- industry standards
- installation effects
- maintenance
- diagnostics and troubleshooting problems
- calibration
- meter station design
Meter types include:
- Orifice and other dp meters
- turbine
- coriolis

About the Instructor
The course will be taught by Mr. Thomas Kegel, Senior Staff Engineer with CEESI (Colorado Engineering
Experiment Station, Inc.). Mr. Kegel has 25 years of experience in flow measurement research, product
development, calibration, testing, training and consulting. His current responsibilities at CEESI include
new facility development, special test programs and engineering support of measurement processes.
Consulting clients include major corporations in the energy, automotive, process and aerospace industries.
As developer of the CEESI training program, Kegel has nearly 20 years of training experience. He
holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
