The 7th International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement which will be on August 12-14, 2009, will cover a broad scope of research and technology development topics associated with all areas of fluid flow metering. The following is a list of some of the topics to be shared with attendees at the 7th ISFFM.
  • Ultrasonic Metering
  • Facilities & Primary Standards
  • Intercomparisons
  • Measurement Uncertainty
  • Critical Flow
  • Fluid Properties & Gas Analysis
  • Liquid Metering
  • Velocimitry & Optical Methods
  • Differential Meters
  • Other Meters & Topics

7th ISFFM Schedule

March 2008 – First Call for Abstracts
July 2008 – Second and Final Call for Abstracts
October 2008 – Final date for receipt of Abstracts
February 2009 – Acceptance of Abstracts
March 2009 – Notification to Authors of acceptance of Abstracts
July 1, 2009 – Deadline for the receipt of final paper
August 5th, 2009 – Final date to receive exhibits for the 7th ISFFM

Call for Abstracts

The Technical Committee consists of representatives of NIST and CEESI. The selection of papers for the symposium will be conducted by the 7th ISFFM Technical Committee on the basis of submitted abstracts. Only papers containing high quality, original and unpublished material will be accepted for presentation. Therefore, the abstracts must provide a clear summary of the scope and originality of submitted papers. Papers intended to sell or market flow meters or speculate about performance or possible results/plans of research will not be considered. Abstracts are due by October 2008. Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their papers by March 2009. The 7th ISFFM will cover a broad scope of research and technology development topics associated with all areas of fluid flow metering. Papers are invited from industrial research laboratories, universities, government laboratories and industrial field studies.

Abstract Specifications

1. not exceed 500 words (excluding separate supporting figures)
2. have descriptive but brief titles
3. contain a consistent system of units (preferably SI)
(The official language of the International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement is English.)

Abstracts should adhere to the following typeset guide (PDF opens in new winow).

Proposed Topics for Abstracts

The following proposed topics are for general orientation purposes:
1. flow meter performance
2. meter calibration facilities
3. international comparisons among national metrology institutes
4. issues of domestic traceability to national standards
5. installation effects on meter performance
6. multiphase and wet gas flow meters
7. new flow technologies, energy meters, new transducers
8. computer modeling applications in flow metering
9. gas quality and physical properties of fluids
10. using the internet to improve flow measurement
11. uncertainty analysis of flow metering systems
