Comprehensive Flow Measurement Training Course

Pricing & Hotel Information

For more information about pricing and hotel information click on the link below for the event you are interested in attending.

What You Will Learn

This course covers the following:
  • Measurement principles
  • Fluid properties & flow phenomena
  • Primary and secondary calibration
  • Meter design & selection
  • Installation effects
  • Relevant industry flow standards
Several subjects are presented in a general way because they apply to a range of hardware, these include:
  • Mass flow vs. volume flow
  • Reynolds number
  • Velocity profile
  • Measurement uncertainty
  • State equations
The differences between the Fundamental Flow Measurement and Comprehensive courses include:
  • Both courses will cover the same hardware, much greater detail is provided in the comprehensive course.
  • The comprehensive course will include development of working equations for some of the flowmeter types, equations are generally avoided in the fundamentals course.
  • The behavior of a particular meter technology is presented in a very general way in the fundamentals course. In the comprehensive course, the underlying physics are explored.
  • The fundamentals course includes more meter selection and meter comparison material.

Who Should Attend?

This course is applicable for senior technicians, engineers, and technical sales staff with experience using flow meters.

Prerequisites

Extensive flow measurement experience or an engineering degree. A basic understanding of algebra, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics is helpful. Alternatively, attendance of the Fundamentals of Flow Measurement training course is recommended.

Course Format

This course is instructor led, but is available also as an on-site training course. A printed copy of course notes is included.
