What is the Flow Measurement Technical Library?

The Flow Measurement Technical Library (Library) is a searchable web-based collection of over 70,000 bibliographic references and downloadable documents related to flow measurement. This library can be searched by anyone for free on the internet at www.ceesi.com/library. It was initially developed by Colorado Experimental Engineering Station Inc. (CEESI) in October 2007 and called the "CEESI Technical Library". Starting in fall 2008, a partnership began with the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) to enhance the library with an emphasis on expanding the number of bibliographic references and downloadable documents pertinent to the natural gas industry. As a result of PRCI's involvement, the library was renamed the "Flow Measurement Technical Library" in October 2009 with dramatic improvements in searchability as well as nearly doubling the number of document references.

A list of recent updates regarding the library can be found at the library news page.

What is the Purpose of the Library?

The goals of the library include:
  • provide a repository for technical material that is easily accessible for industry users and researchers
  • organizations that host flow measurement conferences (a.k.a. "schools", "symposiums", "workshops") can utilize the Library as a mechanism to make proceedings widely available at no cost
  • increase the efficiency of future research by making prior research readily available
  • support the maintenance of institutional knowledge as the retirement of experienced personnel

Which Organizations Contributed Papers or References?

Since the library's initial release, significant donations of downloadable PDFs and bibliographic references have been made from organizations including:
  • CEESI
  • International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement (ISHM)
  • National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST)
  • International Symposium on Fluid Flow Measurement (ISFFM)
  • Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course (AGMSC)
  • American School of Gas Measurement Training (ASGMT)
  • Western Gas Measurement Short Course (WGMSC)
  • American Gas Association (AGA)
  • Natural Gas Sampling Technology Conference (NGSTC)
  • Acadiana Flow Measurement Society (AFMS)

Pipeline Research Council International

The Pipeline Research Council International, or PRCI has supplied an extensive amount of bibliographic references to the library as a service to the oil and gas industry. A variety of papers are available only for immediate download to PRCI members; members should access this library through the PRIME website in order to unlock the download option on many PDF's.
